- Alice Shapiro, “Laze away the day” – the poem is awesome, but don’t miss the commentary. It concerns some themes I’ve been thinking about a lot recently.
- Megan McArdle, “The GOP’s Magical, Mystical Relationship With Business” – from the article: No matter how little we tax or regulate business, it is very unlikely that we are going to see consistent 5% year-on-year growth in a mature economy with an aging population. We cannot bail out our budget by pretending that growth is going to come along and rescue us from the very expensive promises we have made.
- I highly recommend you check out readability.com and read some of the articles on this site and others with it. If you find a similar service to it, let us all know. You have to pay for readability’s cool features; I have the free version downloaded and am making full use of it right now.

Megan McArdle’s article is well worth the read. It take a great standpoint on the current issues in todays government.
Megan’s article hits sweet home – with me. I’m not a republican by any stretch of the imagination- analysis of their plans seem to make no sense.
Our body politic is sick and i’m not sure it can be salvaged.
I know one potential GOP candidate that would probably be confident (arrogant?) enough to promise a 5% growth in the business sector: not Ron Paul, as Ms McArdle suggests, but Trump…
I could have sworn I had commented on the Atlantic article. I must not have hit post. I was actually thrilled to read it. I know she’s not the only one to think it, but I’m glad she said it.
Hey there! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and say I really enjoy reading through your articles. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that go over the same subjects? Thanks a lot!
