No problem....I was making sure I was on point, and agree with you in hoping they will actually become republicans while serving under the republican party.

It does not look too good for our future though.

Tamara, sorry about that. I definitely intended to say "bi-partisan in my comment above.

If conservatives would stick to conservatism, that would be partisanship: per definition wiki:
Partisanship is the tendency of supporters of political parties to subscribe to or at least support their party's views and policies in contrast to those of other parties. Extreme partisanship is sometimes referred to as partisan warfare.

Bi-Partisanship would be to reach across the isle, unfortunately for all of us, they are no long reaching across the isle, they have moved the isle over to the other side altogether, and are showing no identity of conservative.

Very nice essay. The idea of social justice is taking seed and it will be difficult to uproot, because it makes people feel righteous, as you've indicated.

I do believe the media shaped this election and is allowing an Obama presidency, although I was completely unenamored with a McCain presidency. So many issues went totally unreported and unexplored. We know that the slightest seeming-blemish on the right would have been exploited.

With most of the citizenry not watching, not caring but grabbing on enthusiastically for a free ride of some kind...well, I'm dubious that we will overcome it.

Perhaps we will have a conservative in the White House sooner rather than later, but to do this Obama must bomb to the point that the media cannot cover it up.

I also see no opportunity for partisianship, and in some ways I'm glad. If Republicans reach across the aisle there's only hard Left awaiting the willing hand. We know the Left never reaches to the Right without some disturbing goal in mind. Conservatives, IMO, need to stick to Conservatism. It's our last best chance.

I know, I'm jaded:-)

You were a calming factor for so many during the election, including myself, and did stop to ponder and re-think some of my harsh thoughts toward an Obama presidency.

You should know I feel robbed of an opportunity I surely thought I would follow through with from a very young age.

I am rather excited to see you "re-think", and know as I do sometimes anger is justified. It can be expressed so well in words.
-----
True, This! —
Beneath the rule of men entirely great,
The pen is mightier than the sword. Behold
The arch-enchanters wand! — itself a nothing! —
But taking sorcery from the master-hand
To paralyse the Cæsars, and to strike
The loud earth breathless! — Take away the sword —
States can be saved without it!

Richelieu; Or the Conspiracy
-----

I have a friend from Bulgaria who says "If wanted socialism, I could have stayed in Bulgaria, but I came for a slice of American apple pie, in America!

Here! Here! To partisanship! If you don't stand for what you believe, what will you fall for??

Great post!
