  • Brian Leiter's Philosophical Gourmet rankings aren't badly done if you're into analytic philosophy. But I recommend this article because of its latter half. I do wonder if he exemplifies everything that's wrong with the academy - the culture where departments strive for ranking, where left-wing politics are completely unchallenged, and money and materialism reign supreme.
  • Jennifer's post consisting of Proust quotes is a good introduction to why Proust matters.
  • Somebody asked me about Rutgers via e-mail recently, and I thought this incident and its description, multiplied 1,000,000 times, would explain what life there was like.
