This seems to be the way of the majority. While they would look down on this particular proclamation as petty and materialistic- they are holding the exact same mindframe when encouraging their children to only date (and usually only befriend) those who are economically "successful", when they spend every waking moment and ounce of energy growing their savings account or fretting over their portfolio.<br/><br/>Yet, most of these people <i>do</i> work in these jobs they hate, that they are ill-suited for, and that provide little or no societal benefit.<br/><br/>Life has gotten more than crazy.
