Rethink.

…I might as well get my two cents in. This is excellent, this is the post that started it all, and if you want further reading:

• Does the search for wisdom stem from the same sort of knowledge as the empirical sciences? If not, where might it come from?
• Is love greater than wisdom? What exactly constitutes divine love?
• Does the knowledge that underlies wisdom make us happy, or is happiness about control?
• Is teaching another where wisdom and love meet? If not, is the wise person condemned to a life of loneliness?

Anyone who claims to have firm and final answers on these topics is insane. The above posts besides my own linked to are a great introduction to talking about these issues, and this discussion must continue – it is not only all I blog about, but it is in the nature of modern conversation to move from one topic to another as if all topics were created equal. If you want to even search for wisdom, that sort of capriciousness must come to end, I would guess.
