I’m still puzzling over what to write this dissertation on. I’m thinking I want to sink my teeth into a public/private distinction and in what way Plato or Aristotle might have had it (all of you are well familiar in what way I think we “have” it).
The other issue is that I’m reading Aristotle’s Ethics slowly, and getting a lot out of it, but I’m not sure where that’s leading. I started looking at Rousseau again today, and I had to put it down because I didn’t feel thorough enough on other thinkers to be able to do the usual “I need to be able to comment intelligently on every line I read” thing.
Other than that, I need poems to write on. Been looking at Keats’ “To Psyche,” but wow is that dense with allusions I don’t get. Your suggestions are welcome.
